Russia says two civilians were killed during overnight Ukrainian drone attacks in the Krasnodar and Belgorod regions, marking another escalation in the ongoing conflict. Authorities in Krasnodar reported that debris from intercepted drones damaged homes and triggered a fire at the Slavyansk oil refinery, while officials in Belgorod said repeated attacks over the past day resulted in one death and another injury.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukrainian forces successfully struck two Russian oil refineries: the Slavyansk facility in the Krasnodar region, approximately 300 kilometers from the front line, and another refinery in the Yaroslavl region, around 700 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. Kyiv described the operations as part of its long-range campaign aimed at weakening Russia’s energy infrastructure and logistical capabilities.
