Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russian missile and drone attacks across several regions of Ukraine killed at least eight people and injured dozens, including civilians and emergency responders. According to Zelenskyy, five people were killed and 29 wounded in a missile strike on infrastructure in the Dnipro region, while a drone attack on a civilian minibus in Zaporizhzhia left three dead and six injured.
The Ukrainian leader also reported damage to energy infrastructure in the Sumy, Odesa, and Chernihiv regions, with additional attacks recorded in Kherson and Kharkiv. He emphasized the urgent need for stronger air-defense capabilities, particularly anti-ballistic systems, and called for accelerated development of Europe’s own missile-defense infrastructure.
The latest wave of strikes highlights the continuing intensity of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and the mounting pressure on Kyiv’s allies to provide advanced military support. Russian authorities have not publicly commented on the specific incidents, and independent verification of casualty figures remains difficult amid ongoing hostilities.
