Neither Hezbollah nor Lebanese authorities immediately commented on the incident, which comes amid ongoing accusations that Israel continues to violate a fragile ceasefire agreement in southern Lebanon. The latest development underscores persistent instability along the Israel-Lebanon border despite international efforts to reduce tensions and prevent a wider regional conflict.
According to official Lebanese figures, Israeli military operations since March 2026 have resulted in more than 4,200 deaths and over 12,000 injuries. Israel also maintains control over several areas in southern Lebanon, including territories occupied for decades and zones captured during the 2023–2024 conflict.
