Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed its forces destroyed 11 US military aircraft during the recent 15-day conflict with Washington, including an F-15 fighter jet, a P-8 maritime patrol aircraft, a C-17 transport aircraft, eight aerial refuelling aircraft and 17 reconnaissance and operational drones.
According to IRGC spokesman Brig. Gen. Hossein Mohebbi, Iranian strikes also targeted command-and-control centres, Patriot air defence radars, surveillance systems, missile launch platforms, logistics facilities, aircraft maintenance centres, weapons depots, fuel storage sites and other military infrastructure at US bases. He said the attacks occurred between July 8 and July 22 but did not identify the locations of the affected bases.
Mohebbi further alleged that more than 200 US service members were killed during the conflict and claimed the number of wounded was significantly higher. He challenged Washington to allow independent journalists to inspect the alleged strike locations, describing official US casualty figures as inaccurate.
The IRGC spokesman also warned that the United Kingdom, Gulf states or any country supporting future US military operations against Iran could become “legitimate targets.” He specifically referred to reports of US B-1 bombers operating from UK air bases and warned of military consequences if British support continued.
Mohebbi additionally accused Israel of encouraging continued US military involvement in the region and warned that renewed hostilities would result in severe consequences for Israel.
The United States has not confirmed Iran’s claims regarding aircraft losses, infrastructure damage or military casualties.
