President Donald Trump has unveiled a newly upgraded Boeing 747-8 aircraft donated by the Qatari government, now serving as an interim Air Force One for the United States. Valued at approximately $400 million, the luxury jumbo jet has undergone extensive modifications by the US military, including enhanced security systems, advanced communications, and upgraded mission technology to meet presidential transport standards.
The aircraft will undergo final commissioning flights before officially entering service, replacing aging Air Force One models temporarily until Boeing delivers its delayed next-generation VC-25B fleet. While the White House maintains the donation is legal and will later be transferred to Trump’s presidential library, the high-value gift has sparked political debate and scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest.
