Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Ukraine of deliberately targeting Russia’s energy and tourism infrastructure amid intensifying military conflict. Speaking at a government meeting, Putin claimed that Kyiv is increasingly striking civilian infrastructure as battlefield conditions worsen for Ukrainian forces.
In recent weeks, Ukrainian drone attacks have reportedly hit multiple Russian oil refineries and fuel terminals, forcing several facilities to suspend operations for maintenance. These disruptions have contributed to fuel shortages and prompted Moscow to impose regional restrictions across areas including Saratov, Tver, Omsk, Voronezh, Crimea, and Tatarstan.
Ukraine’s military, meanwhile, has claimed responsibility for damaging at least 16 major Russian oil refineries, alleging that the strikes have significantly reduced Russia’s refining capacity.
