Israeli Strikes in Gaza and West Bank Kill Two, Including 12-Year-Old Child Despite Ceasefire

A 12-year-old child was among two Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza and the occupied West Bank, highlighting ongoing violence despite a ceasefire and renewed international concern over civilian casualties.

Israeli military attacks in Gaza and the occupied West Bank have reportedly killed at least two Palestinians, including a 12-year-old child, despite a ceasefire that has been in effect since October 2025. Health officials at Nasser Medical Complex in southern Gaza said the child was killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, while several others were injured.

The latest incident highlights ongoing security and humanitarian concerns in Gaza, where violence has continued even after the ceasefire agreement. According to Gaza health authorities, more than 1,000 Palestinians have reportedly been killed and thousands injured since the ceasefire began, raising questions about its effectiveness and enforcement.

The attack comes shortly after a United Nations Commission of Inquiry released a report expressing concern over the impact of the conflict on Palestinian children. The commission stated that children continue to face significant risks from military operations and emphasized the need for stronger protections under international humanitarian law.
