Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly preparing to return to Britain later this month, six years after moving to the United States and stepping back from their roles as working members of the royal family.
According to reports, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to relocate with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to a non-royal residence believed to be outside London. The children are reportedly enrolled to begin school in Britain in September.
The reported move follows a reunion between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, at Highgrove in Gloucestershire last month. The king is said to welcome the prospect of spending more time with his son and grandchildren, although the Sussexes are expected to remain private individuals rather than resume official royal duties.
The couple are also reportedly expected to retain their homes in Montecito, California, and Portugal. Their security arrangements in Britain remain unclear, an issue that has been a major point of contention for Prince Harry. He previously argued that he would not feel comfortable bringing his wife and children to the UK without adequate police protection.
Harry and Meghan’s reported return could therefore represent a significant development in their relationship with the British royal family, particularly following years of public disagreements and strained relations.
