Venezuela Earthquake Death Toll Rises to 920, More Than 3,300 Injured and 172 Still Trapped

Twin earthquakes in Venezuela have killed at least 920 people, injured more than 3,300, and left 172 individuals trapped as massive rescue operations continue.

Venezuela is grappling with a catastrophic humanitarian disaster after two powerful earthquakes claimed at least 920 lives, according to senior lawmaker Jorge Rodríguez. State television reported that 3,360 people have been injured, while 172 individuals remain trapped beneath collapsed structures, prompting an urgent nationwide rescue effort.

The updated figures represent a significant increase from earlier official estimates released by acting President Delcy Rodríguez, who had announced 589 deaths and 2,980 injuries earlier in the day. Emergency responders, military personnel, and volunteers continue working around the clock to locate survivors and provide assistance to affected communities.

The twin earthquakes have caused widespread destruction across multiple regions, damaging homes, public infrastructure, and essential services. Authorities warn that casualty numbers may continue to rise as rescue operations reach remote and heavily impacted areas. Humanitarian organizations are mobilizing aid, while citizens across the country mourn one of the deadliest natural disasters in Venezuela’s recent history.
