Israel Claims Killing of Seven Alleged Hezbollah Members Near Security Zone in Southern Lebanon

Israel says it killed seven alleged Hezbollah members in southern Lebanon, claiming they were transporting weapons near Israeli troops operating in an occupied security zone.

The Israeli military announced that it had killed seven individuals it identified as Hezbollah members in the al-Manzala area of southern Lebanon. According to an official statement posted on Telegram, the group was allegedly transporting weapons near Israeli troops operating within what Israel describes as a security zone north of the Israeli border.

The army claimed that the location served as both a combat and observation post used by Hezbollah activities in the region. Israeli forces said the strike was carried out to prevent threats to soldiers stationed in the area. However, no independent confirmation has emerged regarding the identities of those killed or the military’s allegations.

The security zone referenced by Israel encompasses parts of southern Lebanon that remain under Israeli military control following months of cross-border hostilities. The continued presence of Israeli forces and periodic military operations have remained a source of friction despite international calls for de-escalation.
